Traditional Batik
Much have been made about Malaysian batiks. Batik-making in Malaysia had over the years stretched the limit of what should be construed as batik. Modern Malaysian batiks sometimes do not look like batiks anymore – all in the name of so-called innovation. They may as well be printed by machine. And there are those which are just brush painted on the cloths and with a few lines and dots made by waxing! Read Morehttp://gempamelayu.com/

Highlands in Malaysia
Mount Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia
See - Highlands
The cool and peaceful highland resorts make great vacation retreats. Places like Fraser’s Hill, Cameron Highlands and Genting Highlands (all in Pahang) and Maxwell Hill (Perak) serve as an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life and tropical heat.
Fraser’s Hill houses an abundant variety of birds in its jungle; Cameron Highlands is famous for its tea plantations, flowers and vegetables; while Genting Highlands is popular for its theme park and casino. As Malaysia’s smallest and oldest hill station, Maxwell Hill offers a quiet getaway complete with quaint colonial bungalows and rest houses.
But for those who enjoy mountaineering, you’ll be delighted to take on the challenge Gunung Kinabalu (Sabah), Southeast Asia’s highest peak, offers as well as the many mountains waiting to be conquered such as Gunung Tahan (Pahang), Gunung Ledang (Johor), Gunung Mulu (Sarawak) and Gunung Jerai (Kedah). Most of these well-known mountains are located in gazetted national parks so they offer many other activities such as jungle trekking and birdwatching.

Mt. Kinabalu's Low's Peak
Below is a video on top of mount Kinabalu in Sabah, of Borneo Island, Malaysia.
My third trip to to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, on the Borneo Island. Another business trip...
Found a postcard on Kinabalu Park at shopping complex. The postcard shows the Mt. Kinabalu in the background during sunrise. Only the peak is partially seen. Mt. Kinabalu is the geographical landmark of Kinabalu Park, the first UNESCO heritage site in Malaysia. This mountain is situated in the Crocker Range on the eastern coast of Sabah and also the highest mountain (4,095m) in Southeast Asia, geographically.
Using a self-prepared stamp that shows the Mt. Kinabalu's Low's Peak (30 sen) and posted the postcard at GPO Kota Kinabalu on 18.2.2009. It ends up with dissapointment as the meter cancellation only shows the date (19.2.2009) and the place that do stamping is not there!
